My name is Valerie Andersen. I graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering. I worked as a full-time engineer for awhile, but then decided to try and work from home while raising my family.

I found a passion for helping students understand math in college as one of the first undergraduate teacher’s assistants in the math department at ASU. I have seen many students struggle with algebra because of confusing textbooks or teachers that are difficult to understand.

It is very rewarding for me to help students understand math and ease their frustration. I explain problems in a very simple, straight-forward style. I have many e-mails from students thanking me for the help I have given them and can forward their comments upon request.
